Dr. Jean-Francois De Backer (Postdoctoral associate)

My project focuses on the neuromodulatory mechanisms and circuits involved in internal state-dependent processing of odors.

Ariane Böhm (Graduate (PhD) student, Laser Safety Officer)

Using a combination of 2-Photon functional imaging and genetics, I want to unravel how sensory modulation impacts on memory formation and higher level chemosensory processing.

Furthermore, I am the laser safety officer of the lab.

Johanna Kobler (Graduate (PhD) student)

My focus lies in the interaction between the gut and the brain. I am combining optogenetics and behavior to understand how food memories are formed.

Virginia Palieri (Graduate (PhD) student)

I am interested in the representation of relative experience in the brain. To this end, I combine in vivo imaging and behavioural analysis in fly and fish. My project is a joint project with the lab of Ruben Portugues at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology.
